Ganapathy Homam Performed on 22 Aug 2020

We start our journey towards spreading vedam and vaidigam with a Mahaganapathy Homam conducted in our head office.

The Next Upcoming event is on 24th August 2020 on the occasion of Shasti. We shall be performing Ekadasha(11 times) Rudra parayanam and performing abhishekam with different dhravyams for lord Subramanya.

We worship Lord Ganesha before starting any Pooja or Homam and on all auspicious occasions. Ganesha is also known as ‘Vigneshwara’ [vigna + Eswara] which means the lord who removes all obstructions (Vighna). Maha ganapathy homam is believed to remove obstacles not only in the material world but also in one’s spiritual progress.

We worship ganapathy as a very important deity for Kundalini awakening and Kundalini rise, which is the first step in self-realization. People desiring progress in various material pursuits as well as those seeking liberation and spiritual awakening perform ganapathy homam.

To perform Ganapathy Homam below materials

  • Ghee, Modhaka (a kind of sweet with coconut, jaggery and rice flour or wheat flour), durva (a kind of grass).
  • The offering into the fire Ashta Dravya which is a mixture of the following eight materials – 1.Coconut, 2.Banana, 3.Honey, 4.Sugarcane, 5.Ghee, 6.Modhaka, 7.Jaggery, 8.Puffed rice.

Chandika Homam

Chandika Homam helps a person in achieving victory over enemies. In this Chandika Homam, we perform an extensive Puja and Homam for Devi Durga. In this Homam, We worship Goddess Durga as a girl child below 10 years of age (Kanya). Hence we worship girls of the same age group during this puja and homam. We also worship all the other incarnations of Devi Durga also during the Chandika Homa.

The Chandika homam is a very unique sacrificial rite involving powerful Chandi Path or Durga Saptasati mantras. There are 700 mantras, spread across 13 chapters of the Markandeya Purana. All the negative energies are driven away by reciting the Chandi path. There are three parts. The 1st chapter to Goddess Durga, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chapters extol the greatness of Goddess Mahalakshmi. The remaining chapters are for Saraswathi, the Goddess of Learning.

Navaratri, the nine days during which goddess Chandi is worshipped is the most auspicious time to perform Chandika Homam. Besides these, other days favorable for the Homam include

  • Chitra and Karthigai Pournami (Full Moon in the long periods of Chitra and Karthika),
  • Jyestha Amavasya (New Moon in the period of Jyestha),
  • Ashtami (eighth Moon stage),
  • Navami (ninth Moon stage),
  • Chaturdasi (fourteenth Moon stage),
  • Magha Amavasya (New Moon in the long stretch of Magha).
