Chandika Homam

Chandika Homam

Chandika Homam helps a person in achieving victory over enemies. In this Chandika Homam, we perform an extensive Puja and Homam for Devi Durga. In this Homam, We worship Goddess Durga as a girl child below 10 years of age (Kanya). Hence we worship girls of the same age group during this puja and homam. We also worship all the other incarnations of Devi Durga also during the Chandika Homa.

The Chandika homam is a very unique sacrificial rite involving powerful Chandi Path or Durga Saptasati mantras. There are 700 mantras, spread across 13 chapters of the Markandeya Purana. All the negative energies are driven away by reciting the Chandi path. There are three parts. The 1st chapter to Goddess Durga, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chapters extol the greatness of Goddess Mahalakshmi. The remaining chapters are for Saraswathi, the Goddess of Learning.
