Bhagavathi Seva means worship or service to Goddess. We also call this pooja as Deepa Durga Namaskara Puja. Worship of Goddess Parvathi, Durga, or kali by the means is considered very auspicious. By performing this puja with devotion, the devotees and their families get the blessings of the Goddess and obtains longevity, Health, Wealth and happiness.
It is common to conduct this for getting married, removing fear perceived or otherwise, removal of evil spirits, and the successful completion of projects of any kind. It is auspicious to recite Devi mahatmyam, Lalitha Sahasranamam and do Pushpanjali
